Wolves in Kelly

13 wolves visited Turpine Ridge, just up the hill from TSS on Tuesday. On my way to work I saw Mike Windsor on the side of the road. We got to see a lone, collared black wolf out on the flats by Kelly Warm Springs. You can tell you are close when you can see their eyeballs in the scope. You could even see the heat haze escape from its mouth when it howled. (You know that haze you see in the distance over the road on a hot day?)

Later, the nice folks from Wildlife Expeditions called to let us know folks were out observing again. We all emptied the office and drove down the road to observe them.

I'll never forget the commute I have here. People travel from all over the world to see wolves, and they are running, playing, hunting and sleeping less than a mile from our home. We're blessed.
